At A Loss...

It is with heavy heart that I compose this post today dear readers.

My uncle, my mother's 58 year old younger brother, passed away last night after a brief but devastating illness that claimed his life. This current tragedy has added another gaping hole in the fabric of my family already pockmarked with the losses of both my maternal grandparents, my father and step-father.

I'm sitting here, staring at my computer screen, fingertips perched on keys, wondering what more I can say. Truly, I'm at a loss for words and need some time to process this event.

Give your loved ones a hug for me and cherish every moment.

  1. Oh...so sorry, Regina to hear about your uncle. People often say that time heals everything, but that's only partially true. Time never heals how much you'll miss him. Sorry...my sympathies to you and your family.

  3. Oh, Regina. I'm so, so sorry. My 50-year-old uncle died last year after a similarly short and brutal illness, and I know what it's like to sit dumbstruck in the face of such a tragic loss. After your other recent losses, well, I can imagine your pain. Thinking of you and your family...

I am sorry for your loss. My uncle, in his early 50's had a heart attack, but had bypass surgery and was doing well, a month later, he dies of lung cancer. The kicker is that he was a football coach and was NOT a smoker.

Some things are not explainable. I wish you and your family strenght and peace through this.

  12. I've experienced some big losses in the past handful of years. It sucks. Really. But then, I've put some of those people on my 'board of directors' to talk to, especially when I have big decisions to make... We do what we have to do to survive.

Sending you big hugs and good energy. Do take care.
