This was my first experience spinning bamboo. It was a super easy spin! I loved the feel of it passing through my fingers and check out that sheen! More bamboo top purchases in my future to be sure.
Next up, another pulled silk sari single...
I love spinning this stuff too mostly due to the fact that pulled silk sari fiber is an inherently wacky spin. Easy to get a thick/thin single during the spin process.
Needless to say, my wheels are getting a workout!
Many more spools to ply and show. Stay tuned kids!
Ooooh, that bamboo is positively to DIE for!! I can almost 'feel' it from here!! :D
ReplyDeleteThat is soooo beautiful, the color and the sheen. Wow.

That bamboo is just gorgeous. I'm at the weird lumpy yarn stage of learning to spin and am always amazed at the wonderful things people spin.
ReplyDeleteAmazing. Makes me want to give spinning a try... Seems like it could easily become very addicting. Looks like you have a pretty great set up!
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed that you're spinning your own yarn!!!...That bamboo looks like it would make a gorgeous scarf or flower! But of course I'd like to make the whole world into a crocheted flower! LOL
ReplyDeleteI love what you've created! You are right, that sheen with the bamboo is so beautiful.

ReplyDeleteLove your designs. Ordered the spider web shawl pattern two days ago==the waiting is excruciating but I know you will take care of it. please send to: fireflyfarm@epix.net no matter what my PayPal sez.
Thinking of making this for an edgy prom shawl for a semi-goth neice. Spiders and all.
Thanks,
Catherine Veleker
Love the bamboo...the colors are awesome!
ReplyDeleteWow, love this. I wish I had the resources to spin my own, and not have to run myself ragged searching for the perfect colour any more.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous bamboo!!! And, I love the crocheted eyeball in your header - lol! My kids would love that!
ReplyDeletebamboo is something that I would really like to use.

ReplyDeleteThat Bamboo is BEAUTIFUL! I am in awe of someone spinning their own yarn! Well done!
ReplyDeleteloved this colorful homespun.....
ReplyDeleteWow I absolutely love your yarn! I really want to get into spinning my own. This might sound weird but my dog has lovely long, soft hair that we have to cut regularly and I'd love to be able to turn that into yarn. Is it possible to do at home without purchasing a full on spinning wheel?
