More Crochet Today Patterns!

Thank you everyone for all of your support and well wishes! I have felt very psychologically isolated during the last several months due to my unraveling marriage. I have kept much of my unhappiness to myself because, let's face it, most people just don't want to hear about it. Oh, don't get me wrong, I have a group of very supportive friends who love me and have provided me with many a shoulder to cry upon, but during the rest of my pretty public life I've kept my misery at bay. I debated endlessly as to whether I even say anything about my current plight on my blog. This is a craft blog after all. However, I do feel a sense of relief by sharing this news with you all and it means so much to me to know that you all are in my corner. So, thank you again from the depths of my soul. You all are amazing!

Despite my marital mess, I do still try to tackle a few design projects here and there. So, without further ado here are my latest and greatest projects for Crochet Today mag...

ABC and 123 appliques to adorn just about anything in your child's room! Definitely a quick, easy and versatile crochet project. I actually think that they'd be splendid strewn atop a baby's blanket.

Next up, a colorful cushion...

Don't ask me how I became the crochet maven of home accessories!

It's weird to be sure.

Anyway, I am very fond of this rippling, flowery wonder. It's purty, right? And isn't it good to know that I haven't completely lost my design ability during these trying times? In fact, once I have a moment to process my latest and greatest marital dissolution, be prepared for the ever so slightly twisted crochet design-o-rama that is sure to result from my experience.

Ahem...

Anyway, I'll leave you with a quote from the wall calendar hanging in my office that has a particular resonance for me as of late, "Divorce is expensive, but freedom is priceless."

The reason that I subscribed to CROCHET TODAY is that they started publishing your patterns! Anyway, I saw your latest designs, and liked the flower.

So sorry to hear about the breakup of your marriage. When you mentioned that your future plans had been derailed, I was worried that you were having more custody problems. So I'm glad that you told us what the problem is, so that we can send along the appropriate supportive thoughts.

Love that ripply colourful cushion! Glad to hear you're still managing a bit of designing. And the quote from your calendar is perfect!

Hugs. I'm going through a separation myself. A friend of mine who's been through it said it may feel like death at first, but it's actually freedom. I hope she's right.

I love all of your designs and especially the Ripple. Everytime I see or say "ripple" I always think of Fred Sanford...yeah I'm old

The pillows are wonderful. Sorry to hear about the marriage; that can't be easy. It's nice you have your friends, and your yarn.

Made my way here via blogarma and thought I'd say hi.

I too knit and crochet; but if you want a change of pace...travel through my travel blog. Sometimes it helps to get the mind on other things.

I'm so sad to hear about your breakup.Given my own experience, I understand that sometimes a thing like this is so large in your life that it permeates everything that you're involved in. Hugs and I hope that everything works out towards a better future. I know that it took me a year or so to feel "right."

We all need people in our lives that lift us up not bring us down.

To quote Olympia Dukakis in Steele Magnolias, "You know I love you more than my luggage."

I have been through this as well and I do know you make it out the other side eventually.

Yell if you need me.

wow, you're amazing. Thank you for your website. I am learning to crochet because I like the monsters. Next I hope to start a monster crochet group in the small town I have moved to (post relationship break-up -- never, never easy). Even if I find no one here to share monster crocheting with, your blog will keep me connected. Thanks!!

I'm sure you don't have the time for such silliness, but I've left an award for you on my blog.

I truly believe that continuing to do the things we love and that we choose to positively define a part of us keep us grounded during some of the shite that life throws us. I am so glad that you shared. While you are indeed 'crafty', you are also a true artist, so your 'every day' life is connected to your art and vice-versa (making your post extremely relevant and welcome!). Also, don't forget, it's okay to angry crochet!!!

Wishing you the best!

I really love the rippling flower crochet pattern you made. Blue is my favorite color so it really got my attention. Do you have any other crochet pillows like this one?

Hi there! I found your blog after falling in *love* with your 1-2-3 appliques but not quite sure how to get a hold of them? wondering if you have the whole alphabet and numbers 0-9 or just the 1-2-3 shown on the pillows? Is the pattern available for purchase? I have a 2yo and think it would be super cute to make a "2" pillow for her bed, but would love to have the other patterns as an option for a very personal gift to her little friends. Thanks so much for your help! (By the way, I really love a lot of your other designs as well and might be back with more inquiries) :) lawsonandjess@mac.com
