New Acquisitions

Cube Farm = Cash Flow

Cash Flow = The Ability To Purchase Mass Quantities of Bound Glory Whenever I Feel The Hankering

Please put emphasis on the term mass quantities, as I left Border's with plentiful bounty a week ago last. Hey, if I've got to do the Cube Time, I may as well reap some benefits from it. Well, other than shelter and food that is...

First and foremost, an exercise in idolatry:

I know, it's a sickness, but I just love this dude...right down to his chain-smoking, seal-eyeball-consuming, crusty center.

I'm a joiner...

Hey, I was feeling left out of the whole sock-making fanaticism thang! And anyway, I have enough sock yarn to knit AND crochet a pair a day for at least the next year.

Remember, Cube Farm = Cash Flow...

Next up is the latest acquisition to my knitted lace library. Yes, I collect books on lace knitting. I know, doesn't fit with my whole jolly roger penchant.

What can I say? I like to knit holes...

A very cool alternacraft (yes, I made that word up!) book brought to us by the queen of SuperNaturale...

Actually, I find that books of this type tend to be a bit on the cornball side, but not this one. Production values are very high-end and it's chock full of stuff I'm dying to make! A must have for anyone who likes to conjure craftiness.

And finally, a little crocheted eye candy...

Seriously, if I use this book for nothing more than a readable respite from my usual crochet regimen, it will have been money well spent.

Now, if I could just find another bookshelf that is both functional and stylish I'd be the happiest Cube Farmer on the planet. Okay, I agree, that's probably stretching it.

Great books!

I love Sensational Knitted socks. I like the Crocheted Socks book, but have yet to crochet a sock.

Anthony Bourdain is pretty cool!

ahhhh... books, books, books...

who needs bookshelves?

i subscribe to Dr. Seuss' theory that books should be stacked in all the nooks of a house!

(actually, that's because all of my bookshelves are full!)

Yeah! You got the crocheted sock book. Love that book. I keep picturing the Wiggly Toes socks on page 59 with your signature eyeballs on the toes. Fun!

Ooooh!!! I was checking out that craftivity on line. Is it as amazing in real life? Perhaps I must justify my existence at FatCatLawFirm!

Oooh!! Good books! Especially the 200 Crochet Blocks one, that is my most favourite book! I've been eyeing the knitted socks one, too. You will have to post some reviews!

I couldn't agree more with the book collecting mentality. I never feel guilty about buying books - whether they be the cook, craft, reference or just plain old reading variety. Money spent on books is money well spent.

And, well, those are just cool ones anyway.

i read a cook's tour. it is a fun read, and also tells you some "what not order, ever, or on a friday" sorts of things.

i love the supernaturale book, it is gorgeous. also, order the crafter's companion, it is amazing.

the sensational knitted socks book is super. it is the sock book that actually created a sock from. and then also there are basics on knittinghelp.com with videa which helped me figure out some of the things like turning the heel and picking the stitches back up. i use magic loop after trying the dpn's and i must say...i don't know why everyone doesn't use it!

lastly, i am doing handpainted superwash merino sock yarns in fingering and sportweight and i do take requests, so let me know if ya need anything.

i am spending thanksgiving with an inexplicable rash all over my body! wooo hooo!

Awesome books. Have you seen "Victorian Lace Today" by Jane Sowerby? (I tried posting a link and it came out wrong, so that's why there's a deleted comment. Sorry about that.)

Like yarn and fabric, you can never have too many books, especially craft books. Great collection.

I saw Anthony Bourdain get a tattoo on the show "Miami Ink" about a month or so ago - he's cool!
